My interest lies in our cultural and socially constructed relationship to the body in the western world. The realm of norms, rules and laws that creates the complex structure which constitute the body and the traditional position of adorning and decorating the body with the use of jewelry for power, status, wealth, identity and beauty.Like a cross-section of this indivisible unity, my jewelry breaks up these structures of body, norms, culture and society and shows them in a new light of form, context and meaning. By turning it into jewelry, a piece of tradition, history and interpretation, it also turns it into a discourse and perhaps a new understanding.

Jag är intresserad av västvärldens kulturellt och socialt konstruerade förhållande till människokroppen: alla de normer, regler och lagar som skapar den komplexa struktur som är kroppen, och traditionen att pryda och dekorera kroppen med smycken som ett uttryck för makt, status, rikedom, identitet och skönhet.
Med ett tvärsnitt i denna odelbara enhet löser mina smycken upp sammansättningen av kropp, normer, kultur och samhälle, och visar dem i en ny form, ett nytt sammanhang och med en ny innebörd. Genom att åstadkomma smycken, tradition, historia och tolkning kan den också bli föremål för samtal och kanske nya insikter.
